As she was planning her move to Canada from the Philippines, Adora Alcance knew one thing for certain: she wanted to get involved in the community. At orientation at her new job at McDonald’s, she found the perfect opportunity in Ronald McDonald House.
An event planner back in the Philippines, she jumped at the chance to volunteer for our Signature and Community events, from golf tournaments and marathons to the A Night to Dream Gala.
Adora also has a regular shift serving breakfast in the House on Monday mornings, where she can get to know the families and be part of the community of care that supports them. “I love meeting new people and having new experiences. And you’re surrounded by people with the same passion!” she says about her volunteer role.
After spending a year volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, she has an ambitious goal: “In the future, my dream is to be a franchise owner of McDonald’s, so that I can help Ronald McDonald House more. I’d like to help build more Houses, and maybe I can help Ronald McDonald House back in the Philippines.”
When she’s not volunteering in the House, Adora loves to stay busy and live life to the fullest – volunteering at other organizations as well as spending time outdoors.
