Tina Cheung is the Executive Coordinator at Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon. Every day, she sees firsthand the impact the House has on families navigating their child’s medical journey, and that inspires her to give back in a meaningful way.
While Tina has always enjoyed staying active, running was never her sport of choice. Growing up, she intentionally gravitated toward activities that involved as little cardio as possible. Yet fundraising through races became an unexpected way to support a mission close to her heart and reconnect with Ronald McDonald House beyond her day to day role.
Tina also credits her friend Connor, whose enthusiasm for signing up for races, combined with her well documented inability to say no, has led them to participate in three fundraising events since 2023. Together, they have raised more than $3,000 in support of Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon.
Throughout her fundraising journey, Tina draws inspiration from the families she serves. The courage, resilience, and unwavering love shown by children, parents, and caregivers facing some of life’s toughest challenges motivate her through training runs, pre race nerves, and every finish line.
For Tina, every kilometre completed and every dollar raised helps ensure families can stay close to their sick child when they need each other most. She is proud to support an organization she believes in deeply, helping make sure families have the care, comfort, and support they need to stay together throughout their child’s healthcare journey.
