This mom and daughter duo raised $1,500 in 2024 and $1,000 in 2025 for Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon through the sale of silicone beaded keychains. Zoie, who was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma, stayed at the House during her chemo and radiation treatment. Making the keychains became a fun and meaningful distraction during her treatment, and she ended up creating over 250 of them with her mom.
After her scans came back clean and she was able to leave the House, Zoie and her family set up a fundraiser at their home with a hot chocolate and cookie station, selling the keychains to friends and neighbors. They continued to sell them at parades and craft markets, using their creativity and dedication to raise funds for families staying at the House.
Ray completed his first Olympic-distance triathlon on September 1, 2025, that’s an impressive 1.5 km swim, 38 km bike, and 10 km run — all in support of Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon. With a mix of determination, courage, and a touch of personal adventure, he pushed through this incredible challenge to raise funds that help families with seriously ill children stay close to the hospital without worrying about hotel costs or meals.
Thanks to his efforts, Ray raised CA$3,983.14 in support of the House. Follow @ray_funfun to see his journey firsthand.
